Rei Tsukiyora is a jaded man who runs a pawnshop in Miyogawa’s seedy underworld. One evening, he comes across a despondent Akari Hashimoto fleeing from her captors. Unable to abandon a young girl to the dangerous streets, Rei begrudgingly takes her in, offering her a reprieve until she finds her bearings.
One thing leads to another, however, and Akari’s stay becomes more… permanent than he had envisioned. For Akari, who has only led a high-flying life, and for Rei, a man living by the skin of his teeth, life together is… manageable (if not amusing).
While Akari may have renounced her past life as an heiress, fate won’t let them go that easily. Akari’s entrancing looks and eminent status catch the eyes of Ryuichi Satou.
